“As African Americans, we can’t be selfish with our talents, our gifts, and our opportunities. I’m going to be helping so many young women and I’m going to be building their confidence and doing exactly what we’re doing here (at GLSI) with them, like helping them discover their strengths, and they’re going to touch more young women. And then I’m going to teach young women how to appreciate young men.”

“I definitely appreciate the contributions of so many remarkable people. You know the times when the English language will fail you? I know many of us would like to say some really beautiful things about Gallup and the people that are here, but there are probably no words to describe it, right?”

“There will be time for education and building and wherever I stop, as I left my future back, I’m moving on, don’t look back. Always move on, do not stop, because there is no obstacle in your way that can stop you from doing anything or achieving whatever you want in life.”

“Being here has been more of a spiritual thing for me. Just seeing everybody and how they react to each other, everybody pretty laid back, just noticing the differences from Monday to now in different people. I thought that was awesome, a growing experience, and I relate that to me because I’ve grown throughout this whole week. I feel I should let you all know how you have impacted me – everybody in here is such a beautiful person. I hope to look back on this week and see how much I’ve grown because that’s the purpose of this whole week, to grow!”

Yesterday I was just observing you and appreciating the fact that I had so many bright people around me, and I’m so thankful for that and I just want to thank you guys. If I hadn’t met Charles (McClendon) in New York, I don’t think I would be who I am today, and I truly believe that I have grown.”

“I could think of numerous reasons why I came to the GLI and the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. With the knowledge, skills and research interest that I will gain from being a student and graduating from the MA in Business Leadership program, my intent is to pursue a career in consulting and conducting research with top tier companies.”
